DuPont owned the IMR powder line for quite a while so I would say that YES, DuPont and IMR data is interchangeable.

What is not simply interchangeable is Hodgdon H-4895 and IMR-4895.

Standard rules regarding using different lots of powder obviously apply.
(that rule ALWAYS applies)

Can you post a picture of the container? Or describe the container?

Any Dupont powder is at least 35 + years old. However, like Sevens says, IMR was a Dupont brand name. They got out of the powder business in the late 60's/early 70's.
Their use of IMR(Improved Military Rifle) dates from the 1920's. Mind you, there was no other company using the number '4895' until Hodgdon came along. H4895 and IMR4895 are very close. Numbers 69 and 71, respectively, on Hodgdon's burn rate chart.

DuPont/IMR are the same powder, made in the same plant. They dropped the "DuPont" when the plant was sold, no other change.

The powders may be made in the same factory to the same specification, however the powder you have is quite old. If you choose to use it, I would respectfully suggest that you start out at the very lowest end of the loading range. Better safe than sorry.
