A Dream Accessory you would love to have

What would be your dream accessory or tool?

I know what mine would be... a machine to load the ammo into boxes from the bins.

As it is, it takes me about the same time to put the ammo in boxes as it takes to load it. About 5-6 minutes to load 100 rounds... 3-5 minutes to put them in the boxes.

Something must be done about it!

That's an interesting thought. I wonder if maybe you couldn't just modify a Dillon case feeder to drop them nose-first down a tube. Then you'd just have to work out indexing the ammo box.

That thought HAS crossed my mind, so who knows... when I retire, perhaps?

Of course you would need to watch out for soft primers and pointed bullets...

That might be easy to do, I can't remember which way they drop down the ramp right now. If I could come up with a dream tool it would have to be a one step case prep machine. I want one where you drop a case into it and the machine trims, deburs, and does military brass primer holes all in one step. You would just need to load a bin hit the settings for the case and out would pop nothing but prepped brass.

Okay, the idea about dropping loaded rounds down a tube nose first does not sound like a good one to me.. What if one round got lodged in the tube, and the next round-pointy tip towards primer-came flying down the tube.... Not good.

When you say boxes, are you referring to ammo cans? Or are you meaning actual boxes like what bullets come in from the store? If the latter, my opinion is that I don't store ammo in them. They are not air-tight so the ammo will tarnish just sitting in them. They are a pain to keep up with the pieces at the range. If the box gets wet, it will fall apart. I don't use those cardboard boxes because I vacuum pack all of my loaded rounds. I put the load sheet in with them before sealing so it can be read through the plastic. You can re-use the plastic bags if you don't destroy them getting the bullets out. Just an idea.

Sorry, should have clarified - I only use Dillon boxes, most of the time 100 round ones.

A fast, accurate, repeatable and inexpensive powder dispenser... that worked as advertised.
