Anyone know how to open up the primer pocket on these?
I have 500 once fired cases of police frangible, Federal .40S&W. The cases are super clean without extra cleaning. I took a small reamer to the head of the case to take out the crimp, but the pocket just seems too small. When trying to install a new primer, it gets mis-shapen. I quit with it. Most tools are pocket cleaners for the bottom for depth uniformity or for reaming the crimp from the top as I did. I need a reamer that will open up the pocket to accept a primer with reasonable installation pressure. Any suggestions? I looked at a Hornady pocket primer reamer on line but can't tell if it will open the pocket as I need it to. Thanks for the help.

A simple chamfer/deburr hand tool works well for this sort of thing every time I've tried it... but then again, I don't know what a "police frangible, Federal .40S&W" case looks like. I use mine for milsurp crimps and it works.

Make sure your primers are in spec. If so then get a primer pocket reamer from Sinclair. Go SLOOOW with the reamer chucked in a low powered drill.
