Lyman 1200 DPS 3 Digital Powder System

I'm thinking of picking up one of these. My local Wholesale Sports (Formerly Sportsman's Warehouse) has one in stock for about the same price as Midway.

I've been getting along just fine with my Lee Powder Measure and Franklin Arsenal Digital scale... but somehow need more.

Is there anything I should watch for with this unit, or should I hold off, and save up my pennies for the RCBS unit?

I have one and it is a HUGE time saver if you trickle your loads. Mine seems to throw 1/10 of a grain to much, so I'll set it for 1/10 less then I want. I like it. You need a good stable bench or table to set it on, and it requires 30 minutes to warm up. I usually get it out first and by the time I'm ready, its ready.

I'd give it a 9 on a scale of 10.

I have one also and love it myself. Very accurate compleate unit that saves alot of time if you trickle a load and compaired to RCBS I like both and feel it's a matter of personal preference. In fact I just sold a RCBS unit for a friend and have used others, they all have the own quirks or better word for it would be feel. I would have no problem purchasing a new unit if I were in the market.

Upgraded from Uniflow. Very satisfied. Zero the scale as instructed and it will throw + or - .1 gr. I rate it at 10.

Love mine. The RCBS is faster but more expensive. I use Lee dippers to speed up the process, drop a dipperful in the pan and hit the button. Try to drop 5+ grains less

OK, I'm sold. So I brought one home, warmed it up and loaded some .223 REM.

Each load (25.5g of TAC) was ready for me before I had completed seating the bullet for the previous load. It seemed to be giving me 25.6 grains, which I verified with my old scale. Close enough since that's well below the max for this load (55g Jacketed Montana Gold Bullet).

I made record time.

I also tried running some VARGET thru it, and didn't have the .1 grain overage. I'm guessing it has to do with the size of the powder granules... just can't shut down quick enough for the TAC.
