Reloading books, not manuals
What are your favorite reloading books? I'm not talking about load data manuals, but actual books that dive a little deeper into things like pressure, accuracy, and technique.
I have heard "Pet Loads" by Ken Waters is a good one. What are some of your favorites? Which ones have you bought that you wouldn't recommend? I want to buy a few but I don't want to waste money. |

I have a copy of "Favorite Loads" by Ken Water. It is actually a volume of reprints from "Reloader" Magazine. The interesting part is each chapter is a different caliber and some are older ones followed by newer review of the same with more recent powder, bullets, etc.

You'll either really like the way it's published or hate it. I'm still looking to buy it someday. I've read some exerpts from a buddy's copy and I like Glen's style, even though his grammar drives me insane...

I have and like Glen Zediker's book, a little. But, like a squirrel in the forest, it takes persistance and a lot of digging to find an occasional acorn - he is WORDY! And he is understandably focused on loading .223 for autoloading match rifles so it's much too specialised for many of us more common reloaders.
MUCH better, IMHO, is the "Precision Shooting Reloading Guide", edited by Dave Brennan and it's less expensive too! It contains eight sections, each is well written by a different and truly expert author. It's a very well rounded and advanced loading book with little "chatty" fluff to dig through. I got mine from a Sportman's Warehouse but it can be purchased from MidwayUSA and Sinclair, or used to be. Last edited by wncchester; May 28, 2009 at 10:59 PM. |
