Newbie reloader, Lee Autodisc question HELP!

OK here is the best explanation i can give you. First you need the Lee Rifle Charging Die 90194. ( I guess the Univerasal Die will work too). Screw your die into the press about 1/4 of the way. Remove the plug at the top of the die. This is used for charging the case with a funnel.
At the bottom of the Autoloader is a tube that goes down into the die and the Autoloader base is screwed into the die with the black knurled nut. Make sure there is an O ring on it. If there isn't take it off the plug you removed.
Put any empty shell case into the shell holder and slowly raise the ram until the shell case mouth hits the bottom of the tube in the die. Continue to raise the ram and watch it actutate the autoloader drop mechanism. It should push it up far enough so the discs move forward until the disc hole completely passes over the drop hole in the base. If it doesn't screw the die in a little more until it does but don't go too far so that you damage the case mouth. It is the mouth of the case pushing on the bottom of the Autoloader drop tube in the die that actuates the discs.
For bottleneck rifle cases the die does nothing except drop powder.
Some other cautions: After you determine which disc hole you want for your charge (CC= Powder VMD X Grains) make sure you frequently weigh the charge on a scale to confirm.
If using two discs stacked make sure the smallest hole is on the top so there is no ledge to catch the powder.
Hope all this helps

These directions were more helpful than those that came with the press from Lee. Hope this helps. http://www.surplusrifle.com/reviews2...ress/index.asp
