Problem Strip loader Pro 2000

Remove the cam guide, Key 49 and 50 (black shoe that rides up and down on the cam #2 block that has Pro 2000 on it) there is a screw in front that need to be tight. The screw on the opposite side of the shell plate also needs to be tight. If these screws get loose, the two rods that go back and forth to index the system will not make a full travel and the rod will hit the side of the strip. Contact RCBS for further instructions, detents and a new rod assy. (it may be bent a little from hitting the side of the strip) 800 533 5000. We'll be Happy to help you. Jeanne

Yea it looks like we have representation from RCBS, welcome Jeanne. Welcome Moccw and oldscot3 also. Moccw I would like to hear a review of the Pro 2000 when you have used it a little while and get a chance. That press has really peaked my interest. Jeanne I don't know if you can answer this but is there a chance we will see an auto indexing Pro 2000 in the near future?

Sorry Moccw, when I posted my reply I had in mind my bench mounted APS priming tool, not the progressive press you're using. CrustyFN jogged my awareness with his post.

Pro 2000 Auto Indexing

HI there, Auto Indexing for the Pro 2000 will be available this year. It will be shown at the Shot Show and should be available for sale shortly after. The Press will still be available as a manual index or you can chose the auto index version. All owners of Pro 2000 can update to auto index. The full list price for the conversion is $99.95. You will find this less through companies where you purchase your reloading products. Hope this helps and have a great weekend. Will be back on Monday.

I've been using my 2000 for several years and just recently have "learned" to use the APS system without ripping my hair out. It (the APS) needs to be watched with an eagle eye and close attention to what it's doing on each stroke.

Moccw, it sounds like you may be out of synch with your strips and need to re-seat them in the slot. I accomplish that little feat by pushing the handle forward as though priming and then inserting the open end of the strip into the slot until it contacts the priming ram. That will allow 2 handle strokes (one to resize and then rotate and the next one to bell the case) and then make a priming stroke. But pay attention to make sure the strip advances correctly.

I share your frustrations with this as it is NOT the easiest thing to master. Once you get the hang of it the machine is a dream to operate and my average rate of production is about 400 rounds per hour. Don't give up..........
