Taurus Sights - Solved ??

I think I solved my Taurus P24/7 Heine sight problem. (see my previous thread about these sights)

I removed the slide and made a fixture of wood that held the slide at a 15 degree angle, making the face of the rear sight perpendicular to the plane of the drill press. I chucked a 5/64 drill bit, positioned the fixture, and drilled two indents on either side of the notch. Filled the Heine dot with gunmetal paint, and the two new dots with white marking paint.

I'm attaching two pictures, one of the slide in the fixture, and another of the resulting rear sight. Not perfect focus but it's not a pro camera.

Taking it to the range tomorrow and we'll see if the wife is satisfied.

Took the gun to the range. Ten shots at 25 feet in a 3 inch circle. That works for me, and saves the $140 from Heine. Not night sights but still work fine.
