SD bullet choices for 40 S&W

Does anyone have any recommendations of bullet choices in the 40? Ive been loading the 180 magtech hp, the Sierra 180 hp, and the Hornady 180 hp. So far with only a few loads, the Sierra has the best accuracy. It does have a huge cavity, while the Hornady has a smaller hp. Is one or the other preferrable for self defense. Which would be better for hunting smaller medium game???

I think the Hornady XTP is better suited for game. I haven't used the Sierra but most SD bullets have the larger cavity while the Hornady is designed for better penetration.

Speer Gold Dot is another good SD bullet choice.
