imi 4895
I want to load my m1 Garand with 150 grain m2 military loads..I know I should use only imr 4895..Here's my problem my one reloading manual calls for a load between )43.5--49.5) I went to the imr web sight and it calls for a load between(49.0--53.o) for a 150 grain bullet..at a length of 3.250..What's the correct chart..I could sure use some help from you m1 garand experts..:

Firstly, it depends on surplus vs commercial brass. Load data in manuals is usually for commercial brass unless stated specifically otherwise, so you'll have to back down by 1-2grs for surplus brass.

The IMR web site is not a "Garand" load. Pick up a Hornady manual, they have a section on reloading the Garand. Right now I am using 47.0gr of IMR-4895 with 150gr FMJ bullets. This appears to be the norm, although some people may go up or down a grain depends on their individual rifle.
3.240" is what I think I have my ammo set at.

For bbstacker and others, I highly recommend the NRA softcover publication called, "The M1 Rifle". It is a definitive work, and has a treasure trove of information about the Garand.
There are two parts that were of extreme value to me. One was a section containing a complete list of powders and charge weight ranges for the Garand, and for bullets from 150 grain to 180 grain. The second section shows you how to glass bed a Garand rifle. I've had fun with that one! You can get it from the NRA. Good luck!

I've shot cases of reloads thru my M1 that I reloaded. Sometimes I used LC brass, sometimes I used new Winchester brass. I always had good results with 47.5 grains of IMR 4895.
