I know this might not be the right forum, but

Well folks, I realize this belongs in a different part of the board, but I spend much of my time here and wanted to post this here. My son took his first deer today while sitting on the deer stand by himself. He shot it, loaded it on the 4wheeler and brought it home to show me this afternoon. I know to some folks this may not seem like much of a trophy, but to me and Lane, it was as grand a trophy as there ever was. He sure made his Dad proud today. Here he is with his doe:

And he used his .243 that I camo'd recently to take his first ever deer with. Here is a pic of his rifle:

I guess that should tie it into the smithing forum well enough. I took the gun apart and did a trigger job on it and then painted it for him. I use the duracoat colors to do the job with. It's not often I get a chance to work on a gun for myself, but I did this one special for him. Hopefully there will be many more deer taken by him and his rifle.

Big antlers are mostly good luck not good hunting. He has obviously listened and learned and done you proud. He will remember this with pleasure for the rest of his life. Very well done I say!!

"He shot it, loaded it on the 4wheeler and brought it home"

Now you need to teach him to cook.

Seriously, congratulations all around. Well done.
