Marlin 1894C capacity?
I'm trying to get my wife set up for CAS, and we both believe she wants to shoot .38/.357 cal. I've got a Rossi '92 in .44 Mag that she doesn't like the action on, so I thought I'd check out the Marlin 1894C. I've got a Marlin 444SS and she likes the smoothness of that action, so that may be a go. I've checked out the Marlin site and they say the 1894C has a 9-shot capacity, which I assume is based on the .357 Mag. cartridge length. Most of the stages I've shot in CAS so far call for 10 rounds from the rifle. The 1894CB and the new 1894CBC (competition) are almost twice as much as the 1894C, and I'm not quite sure it's worth that to get one more round.
Here's the question - Can the 1894C hold 10 .38 Spl. rounds, since they're about 0.10" shorter than the .357 Mag? Thanks. Doug444 |
