Main Battle Rifle Fodder - 1980s Era German Surplus 7.62mm NATO
Hello Everyone,
Has anyone tried any of the 1980s era 7.62mm NATO 147-grain FMJ surplus ammunition from Germany that is currently being brought into the country? If yes, have you tried it in your favorite Main Battle Rifle (MBR) (e.g., FAL, M14, etc.)? This is the same ammunition being sold on ammoman.com at the moment. I've attached a couple of photos from their sales page for reference. I have heard wonderful things about the 7.62mm NATO surplus ammo from Austria that was brought in many years ago and thought this German surplus might be of a similar level of quality. Thanks for the opinions. - Anthony |

I don't see any of that on ammoman's site. All I see there is US-mil Winchester and Hornady TAP in .308/7.62mm NATO. Am I missing something?

If you run a search here (or it may have been over on one of the THR websites), I think there have been a couple recent threads about German 7.62, the long and short of which apparently being that there's both good and bad out there, if I remember right.
