No-sync of READ Status from different devices

When I login, read a forum and mark it as READ using device A then log out-- if I login later with device B using the same credentials, it still shows as UNREAD.

Any way go get READ status to sync?

I don't think so. I believe the data for read/unread is kept in the various cookies on your separate devices.

OK, thanks. Surprising the forum software vendor doesn't include this feature...

I don't think this is correct. I'm pretty certain that when I log in from a notebook computer the forum correctly syncs which posts I have already seen and which I have not.

I just logged on from a different computer, which I haven't used for a couple or three weeks. It properly shows that threads I looked at from y primary computer are "read." So it's not all done with local cookies.

I stand somewhat corrected. Since I said, "I believe", my ignorance is covered by the doubt that clause implies.

However, it may still be a cookie issue if the browser used is one like Google's Chrome that stays in sync across platforms. In other words, it's still not clear that the pertinent data is stored on the TFL server in any fashion.

Admin tyme might know.

I'm not using Chrome. My browser is Waterfox Classic, which is a fork of Firefox that still uses the old (pre-Chrome) browser engine from the "old" Firefox.
