I will be taking a long-distance rifle course this summer and need a good spotting scope. I have a Leupold 25x50 scope, but I'm underwhelmed by its performance.

Do any of you have experience with a scope that you'd recommend?

Take a look at the Nikon line. I have used Nikon optics exclusively on my rifles and cameras for the last 15 years because of their superior lenses and coatings.
