Opinions on Glock 40mos value

I have a like new glock 40mos with a set of plates and box of ammo I'm trading locally. I've had an offer of a 6" s&w 686 plus. Which is no lock. Is this a fair deal for me.

Opinion: Resizing your pictures would make viewing, and reading your post much easier!

Some hints for the best results when you make a discussion like this:

Smaller pictures... these are blowing this whole page out of whack

Subject title: every discussion elicits opinions... Use the subject line to give us an idea of what the discussion is about.

To the subject, I would trade nearly any Glock for pretty much ANY pre-lock S&W 686 in a heartbeat. I really am not sure what you mean when you say "and a couple of plates" ??!

Honestly only you can answer this. I certainly would. But then again I don't care for Glocks.

I guess I'm having a hard time finding a value on a 686+ pre lock.

I edited size of pics also.

I'd rather have the 686 any day over a Glock. Glocks just aren't for me

Value for a pre-lock 686: if fully functional and not physically damaged, altered or missing parts, rock bottom runs $550. All goes up from there. Minty condition? Original box? Price climbs. They are not investment pieces with ever-rising collector value like a Colt Python -- instead, these are highly functional and durable much-loved revolvers by anyone that has ever had one. They are arguably the most successful in their class.

I traded a glock 21 in on a GP100 and haven't looked back. So I'm sure you can guess my vote.

Sounds like a fair trade. Then again, I love my revolvers.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cf9e38149c.jpg

Apples and oranges but I'd pick the apple (the fruit with a cylinder).

Good deal. If you want a revolver it's a great deal. If you don't have a revolver then it's a super deal. If you have a few revolvers and are just trading because you are bored then you're too much like me and you need help.

Seriously though, I'd get that 686 before he sells it to someone else.

I like Glocks but don't like 40's. I would keep the Glock and buy the 686. But I don't like to get rid of guns.

Good answers all. Glock's are fine tools, but the 686's are quality revolvers.

Both can be found new for around $700. Both are probably in the $600 range used. The condition of each will make a difference.

It will be a lot harder to find a pre-lock 686 Plus in good condition with the original box versus the Glock which are still being made.

Even though the g40 is one of two glocks (the other being a g20) that I would actually spend money on (love the 10mm) I'd have to say make the deal.

I like Glocks, but I’d do the trade myself. Then I’d want to get another 40 MOS to replace the one I traded off.
