I can't imagine lighting that thing off would be anywhere in the neighborhood of 'fun'.

I shot them and they shot well. There is a bright muzzle flash then a thunderous boom followed by snappy recoil all significantly dampened by the heavy weight of the Ruger Blackhawk. I fired about a hundred of them.

I fired a couple through the J frame. It felt similar to shutting my hand in a door. I don't recommend shooting it through the J frame
