holsters for IPSC/IDPA
would this holster be allowed in IPSC and/or IDPA?
What are the criterias for holsters both for IPSC and IDPA? Also what should I be looking for in a holster? thanks

Yes.
What should you be looking for? I dunno. What do you want to get out of IPSC or IDPA? Exercise your self defense gear or get the best possible score? Rules at www.idpa.com download the rule book and look on page 29 and following. www.uspsa.org assuming you are in the USA, if not www.ipsc.org |

good answer, Mr. Watson
All my 'competition' gear is my carry gear, so I recommend using what you carry with (although I admit I rarely use my 1911 Galco Royal Guard ).
And I no longer compete in IDPA because it is: 1) for profit 2) too hard to keep up with the gear-n-gun rules 3) no longer available in my area A33102 My 1911 choice is a used-bought-for-$5 Uncle Mike's Kydex Belt holster - superb, BTW-, and 1AT's for my Witnesses, and Galco Yaqui Slides for everything auto, and a beautiful HSR for my Redhawks.

Weshoot,
IDPA was for profit when you started... wasn't it? Were you just not aware of that or did you change your mind about it? Ben Stoeger |

unaware; I AM a man, after all
I changed my mind about things after a certain arguement with a certain gentleman over the use of my 5.5" Redhawks.
And truly, one can compete in IPSC using IDPA practices and techniques. Of course, one will get slaughtered on the scorecard......
