Brownells B Tac Barrels

Anybody use these for a build? Price is right and usually Brownells name is good parts. Thought? Experience to share?

Looking for something budget for a 300 Blackout build. 5 shot 4” 100yd groups would be fine.

I see why you are interested. At $106 for either a 16" carbine or 10.5" pistol barrel that will really help to keep the $$$ down on a 300 BO build.
My guess would be that the barrel quality is going to be acceptable with Brownells name on it.

For $100, this checks a lot of boxes for me....

Honestly, so does Ballistic Advantage, for not much more.....

nathan,

I've bought and used three Btac .556 barrels. Two worked fine with average accuracy (2-3 MOA). One had headspace problems and would spit fired cartridge primers into the barrel extension causing a failure to return to battery with the next round. The bolt-carrier group would close on a NO-GO headspace gauge (with the extractor and ejector removed). I tried a different BCG with the same result. I called the Gun-techs at Brownells and they said to send it back. I am now waiting to hear their verdict.

So overall two of three were OK and the one with difficulties was taken back with no problems by Brownells. If you're looking for a cheap average accuracy barrel the Btacs should be OK.

best wishes- oldandslow
