Definitely a Beretta man here. Most of the latest model 92 variants have 17+1 capacity in 9mm. If you don't mind plastic, the PX4 is also pretty decent. Same 17+1 capacity and a unique rotating barrel lockup design that tends to soften up the recoil.

I'll also agree with most here regarding the CZ line. Very, very accurate pistols. If you go with the full sized models, you also get pretty decent capacity. They are very well built pistols, but a total PITA to work on. Getting the sear cage back together with all the little levers and springs takes A LOT of Patience! That is why I ended up going back to all Berettas....EASY to work on and do your own trigger job.

I'll also mention the Taurus PT92. I have one in stainless that is really about my favorite due to the frame mounted safety/decocker. You can carry it cocked and locked if you want. Same 5" barrel and accuracy as the Beretta 92. Fit and finish is just not quite as good though.

CZ 97B, my every day carry. 10 +1 of +P 45 Built like a tank, nary a piece of plastic anywhere. Carry it hammer down for double action OR cocked and locked (my choice) for those trained on the 1911.
