Cover for digital scale?
I have a RCBS 1500 digital scale, and thought a cover for it would be a good idea. This is only for protection when not in use, to keep dust, powder, brass shavings from trimming, etc, off of it. Anyone cover their digital scale?

yep I cover mine after each use and it remains at a fairly constant temperature, also it's a bad idea IMO to keep it connected to electric. A digital scale is super sensitive if cared for they work great.

Mine stays on the bench and pluged in to a power strip, but the only time the power strip is turned on is when I'm at the bench. Hopefuly this should be ok.
I was thinking of finding a small tupperware tub that would sit over the scale.

Alright, a noob question, I've been keeping my digital scale in it's padded, zipped up storage (box). Is this a bad idea? Should I be keeping it out and at room temps? What I normally do is go out to the garage, take out and plug in my scale and then get everything laid out and prepped for my loading session. Is this ok? Sorry about the hijack but thought it fit here too.

A digital scale can not be moved to extremes and be expected to function
properly soon there after. It has to acclimate. I didn’t follow your explanation fully. But, the scale needs to be at the Same operating temperature as the room and needs time to warm up once it is turned on. This is why a lot of people leave their scales on. HTH |
