Browning Case?

Hi Folks!

I'm trying to figure out what Browning gun is intended to fit this Browning case:

As you can see, a Browning Auto 22 does fit in the case, but the case looks like it was intended for something with a much longer barrel ... but the barrel slot is fairly thin. It wouldn't fit a barrel with a tube magazine underneath.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Dave

These cases were generic enough to be used with several gun models....cases were available for the nicer higher priced firearms. Since this is a longer case it probably fit high power bolt actions and the BAR. Shorter cases with a pocket for a barrel were common for the shotguns....O/U's and the A-5's.
