Marlin 336- 35 Remington Royal Canadian
Greetings, looking for a real world value of a Marlin 336, 35 Remington Royal Canadian.
The rifle was lightly hunted, purchased new, never scoped. I think it would rate 98-99%. Brophys said Only 270 were made. My gun smith said "rare bird". If I were to sell, what would the value be? Thanks. Artillery King Of The Battlefield |

Hi. Pretty decent write up about 'em here. It's just a Marlin 336C marketed here. First thing you'd have to do is find somebody who wants it. Think I'd start on the Marlin Forum.
Absolutely have never heard of 'em before reading your post. (My being 9 in 1963 would have a lot to do with that. My lever action in those days was a plastic Winchester. snicker.). So I suspect the claim to 'high collectability' is only within the Marlin collector's world. No maple leaves on our flag until 1965 either. Mind you, there's not a chance in Hades Marlin would have been able to Trademark "Royal Canadian" or a maple leaf anyway. Half the CF's regimental names start with "Royal Canadian". Not to mention our national coppers. http://www.marlinforum.com/The-Royal...rlin-Saga.html

IIRC Marlin overlooked the fact that in the Commonwealth "Royal" may only be used with the explicit permission of the Royal Family.
