moly for dies?

Has anyone tried moly coating the inside of rifle dies? I have been kicking the idea around as an alternative to case lube. Not sure how many rounds it would take to wear the coating off. Additionally if the coating were to adhere to the brass and transfer to the chamber of the rifle would this “lubrication” allow the case to slide back into the bolt face with more vigor than normal, thereby shortening the life of the action?
Thanks

Both Shooter's Solutions Moly-Fusion products and Sprinco's Plate+ Silver with colloidally suspended micronized molybdenum disulfide product can be used with dies. The Shooter's Solutions web site has at least one testimonial from someone no longer lubing his cases. I haven't tried that, but think treating dies as insurance against forgetting to lube a case is a good plan. I have use both lubes on bullet sizing dies and been able to measure about 20% friction reduction sizing dry, unlubed bullets with the M.F. product. I did not think to make a pre-treat measurement on the one treated with the Sprinco product, but both feel smooth. Sprinco claims the lower coefficient of friction of the two (0.02 vs. 0.07) but the MF product is dry and more heat resistant, so I can't say which you should prefer under this circumstance? Both do pretty much what they claim.

Thanks, I always appreciate it when someone provides a factual answer to a near theoretical question. I was not aware of those products. I will continue to do my homework, but you provided quite the shortcut. Again thanks

Hunting for Skunks with a Pocket Knife

Lately I have been hunting for skunks with a pocket knife. I have begun to think it is a bad Idea. Can you suggest a gun which might work better?

Thanks
