I have .430 and .451 semi-wad cutter style full metal jacket bullets, except they aren't totally full metal. At the top of the bullet is a small amount of exposed lead, perhaps 1/8" or 3/16" in diameter, which does not protrude above the jacket and which does not have a cavity as in a JHC bullet.

Are these silhouette bullets or are they something like a soft nose bullet? .

I don't recall my recipes but I've been loading and shooting them as plinker rounds.

Is the bottom exposed lead like a FMJ or copper like a JHP/JSP?

Jacketed bullets must have an opening for the addition of the core. It may be at the nose or base. The only "total metal jacket" bullets are plated.

It is a 220 grain bullet.

It has a cannelure.

The exposed lead at the top is approx. .210" in diameter.

This is not a plated bullet.

The base is covered with copper like a JHP.

Without pics it sounds like older Speer product.

I have a Sierra Tournament master with a partially exposed tip. But it is not cannelured and they don't make a 220-grain version it. Is that the kind of nose you are describing, though?

Sounds like a jacketed soft point - JSP. Do you have a box or any packaging? I’d just treat them like any other jacketed bullet and use the appropriate data.

Without pictures it’s going to be real hard to guess exactly what you’ve got but I’ve seen Speer bullets that come pretty close to that description. I have no idea if they are still made.
