I've looked at various "for sale" sites
on the web, Shotgun News, and Leupold's
web site; no luck.

Am looking for the value of a Leupold M-8,
8 power scope in near new condition.
It has a dot reticle and an adjustment on the
front of the tube for parallex.

The seller wants $200.00; make take $180.

I'm thinking about this for my Anchutz 54
"squirrel" rifle.

Is that price resonable, a bargain, or should I
pass. This is not a must buy, so I'm in no rush
to make the purchase unless it's an excellent
value.

Thanks

If the scope doesn't have an adjustable objective I would pass on it for your Anschutz. Reason being the scope is probably not parallax free until 100 yards, or on some of the Leupold long range scopes they aren't parallax free until 200 yards. For a rimfire scope that doesn't really cut the mustard.

I recently put a Leupold 3x9 EFR scope with a duplex reticle on my Anschutz 1710D Custom Meistergrade and it performs beautifully. At closer ranges I can focus down with the adjustable objective.

SWFA usually has overstocks and display models for reasonable prices.
