Load design issues….

I’m playing around with a quasi wildcat….30 Herrett.

Sure, I could look at load data, and try to fit it to my gun, but the real problem is so many powders are hard to find.

So, I picked up some 1680 and No 11fs based on what I see in Quickload.

I’m pretty sure No11fs is the place to start. Case fill is only around 80%, but burn % is closer to 98%.

At what point is low case fill a concern, or is it ever a concern? Maybe I’ll call Hodgdon.

pretty sure its more than a quasi wildcat you have by the tail. Checked my manuals, no data, good luck.

The Reloading Assistant app on my phone shows H110, IMR4227, and IMR3031 for this cartridge. I may still have data written down from when I was suffering through loading this, but this should narrow it down a bit.

My old Sierra manual shows 30 Herrett loads for 2400, 296, H4227, and N200 for both 125 gr and 150 gr bullets. PM me if you want their start and max charge weights.
