1858 Pietta Cracked

Here is a youtube I saw on another site. Don't know for sure if this is true or many facts, however I take gun safety very seriously. It appears to be accurate, in any case if you are purchasing a new BP firearm, check it out. This is a Pietta 1858 Buffalo New in the Box that has a cracked receiver.

Piettas are proof tested.

If it was ultra super danger bad, it would have popped in testing.

Should it be there? No.
Should someone with a similar flaw send it back? Yes.

But that doesn't mean it is a hand grenade.

First he shows a steel frame and then he shows stills of what appears to be a brass frame with a crack or casting flaw extending through the brass and into the steel. I smell fish.

His title says, Painted over. All the 1858 long barrel target sights I’ve seen are brass frame, so is this a brass frame painted black? That would explain the orange peel in the finish, it certainly looks painted.
But regardless, no big deal, send it back for replacement. Except they’ll probably just send it back out to the next person who orders one.
