Dual weilding
Do any of yall carry 2 guns while concealed carry. Not a real serious question, just for conversation.

yes
yes I have three CCW's. One is mine, one is for my wife, and one is a BUG. All three can be switched around in any fashion. I don't always carry 2 but many times I take both when I grab the other. My wife still doesn't really carry unless we travel and even then its a purse gun. The excuse got me an extra firearm though. Our first handgun is bigger and doesn't leave the house anymore.

Do you carry 2 because you dont want the other to feel left out, or carry 2 incase of an emergency situation?

One with an occaisional BUG has always seemed like enough to me, but good guys that are well armed will never be a problem to anyone but bad guys. I say carry 2 if you like, heck, carry 4.

I thought you ment "Dual weilding" as in going to the range and shooting with both hands, why wasn't this labeld do you have a bug?
Yes plan on soon as I get my ccw. Just because I can. And because I can give my gun to someone else if something ever happened. Or mine got destroyed or dropped from a 2nd story, what ever trouble you are in. I remember this saying from a movie, "I am not looking for any trouble boys, (Other guy) yeah but maybe TROUBLE is looking for you." I.E bad guys wanting to rob you. |

Well I dont know what bug means, and from context clues it doesnt sound like it means to carry 2 guns. But if you brought up something interesting. How many of yall shoot 2 guns at once at the range.

Carry two some of the time, you know, the New York Reload.
Have been thinking of changing my carry habits. I am considering carrying two J-Frame 38 Specials with 158LSWCHP. Easy to grip with either hand, balanced on the body, and a quick reload or back up if needed. It's legal in OR to carry a back-up. |

Yes. I carry 2 guns and a scary, unusually huge folding knife most of the time.

IIRC, "dual wielding" is a reference to video games, in which the player can fire two guns at once. Such a practice really doesn't have any place in real-world self-defense usage.
Firing two guns at once requires the brain to duplicate the same complex process with both hands simultaneously. Though there are some folks on the cowboy action circuit who can do it to some extent, it is no a good idea for self defense. Every shot that misses is a shot that could potentially hit a bystander. It also wouldn't look too good in front of a grand jury. Quote:

I think your subject ment to say "do any of you conceal carry two guns" No way in a million years I would shoot a BG with two guns at once, looks like some cowboy/action hero movie/mall ninja crap. Carry two guns, use one if needed for self defence. |

This has been hashed, re-hashed, then hashed some more.
I would NEVER carry two guns unless firearms were part of my profession. The likelihood of EVER using a CC is civilian life is extremely low, the likelihood of using/needing TWO, in the same incident, is low enough (i'd say next to zero, but I don't feel like searching the web for stats) that it would never be a worry, and therefore definite overkill (no-pun intended). That's just me… as the guy said, very well might I add, above Quote:

Example, carrying a auto loader with a revolver, 2 magazines for the auto and 2 reloads for the revolver, just because they can fit in a small pouch. |

The farthest I have gone so far is an extra magazine or 2. Not very often though.

I have never carried two CCW weapons at the same time, not to say I wouldnt if there was a good reason too but for the most part Im not out at night and I try to stay away from areas where most people have trouble.
Still I cant say I wouldnt do it, I just dont have a reason too for the most part.. Some people (outside of police officers) carry entire batman belts full of equipment for every possibility for me its two spare bags and a blood clottiing band aid for myself or my BG depending on if he gets me or if he is the only one who gets injured in my attempt to stop his unlawful attempt to end life. No flashlights, no flash bangs, no batons, no mace, no rope, no hand cuffs, no knives, no swords... you get the idea... I would carry a knife but the laws are so variable around here I would need a county by county map so its just easier to go without... Not because its not potent.. |

But if you need a back up gun, shouldn't it be bigger than your primary gun because it is your backup...meaning you're already out when you reach for it so the situation has escalated and requiring a 2nd gun so it's really deep doo-doo so a 2nd mouse gun makes little sense.
![]() I carry one gun and a reload, couple more mags here n there. |
