Sig 556

I was perusing the photos on sigforum, and was wondering if anyone else noticed that the flash hider was on upside-down?

Or is it just me?

Nope, you're not alone. Looks like it wasn't tightened. Look at the washer under the flash hider, it's loose.

I don't want to hijack you're thread but what exactly makes the SIG 55x rifles so special?

Understand that I am not trying to knock them, I simply have no experience handling them and don't know much about them.

How, for example, are they better then a Galil, HK 416, Vektor R4 etc?

The SIG rifles have a pretty good history as far as there development, design and rigorous testing. Are they better? I dunno. At their heart they are a piston driven rifle with the accuracy of an AR and the reliability of an AK.

They are very nice rifles but my guess is they are not greatly superior to any other high end .223 rifle. I do want one though, being a SIG guy and all.

Mostly because we are americans and it's "new!"

IMO SIG makes a good product, and I like those. In the EBR category, this is the first of theirs that I can buy...and I want one...cuz its new.

I think it is sexy looking. I can't wait to play with one and develop a more sound opinion.

As it is new, I would love to own one before it shows up in a Hollywood movie.

"Daddy? Don't you have one of those?"

"No, son. I have two." <giantevilgrin>
