Overswized 1858?
Dixie Gunworks lists an oversized Remington '58 in their caralog.
What is this gun for? Is it sold to be finished off like a Kit-gun, or is it for some other special reason? I think that the basic '58 is plenty large enough for any hand! Personally, I like the 5 1/2" Remington Sheriff best. It seems to handle the quickest and holsters neatly. Accuracy is ust the same as the full size and you can load the same powdeer charges. ZVP |

If memory serves me correctly, I seem to recall that the present 1858 repros are a tad smaller than the originals & the 'oversize' model was done for Navy Arms to remedy this situation for purists. I have never taken the time to compare a reproduction with an old original however.
