Hornady lnl ap shell plate issue

Hello all first time poster here. Anybody ever had a problem with a shell plate being sloppy on the drive hub and keyway. No matter how tight the bolt is. I'm talking 5 thousands worth of play in either direction. Bought two new shell plates and they fit snug.is this a QC issue or something else?
Thanks all

Sounds like there may be a problem with the detent ball's location on the shellplate. I would give Hornady a call. Their CS people are generally helpful with progressive press issues.

Welcome to the forum.

Agree that it sounds like you are describing a detent issue. Take the problematic plate and one of the good ones and look for differences in the detent recesses like different width or burrs on the edges. Hornady will likely replace it for you if you complain.
