hearing protection provided?

Do we have to bring hearing protection? Know any places that sell good cheap earplugs that do the trick?

The group of us going down to the shoot are all rated NRA Instructors.
There are a few police departments that train their snipers at W&W. The range is available on weekdays for such a thing. I look forward to meeting you. I'll give you the inside scoop on the place if you come down.

Mark54g- they have shooting glasses and ear plugs inside the main building. Look for me when you get there and then I'll take you to Mr. Tomko for your induction.

It would be nice if the newbies could be there between 12-2pm. I'll want some trigger time in the morning. Group picture around 2pm would be nice.

If you plan on being at the pistol range for most of the day, I strongly suggest bring sun screen.

Jamie

Thanks for the note you sent me a while back. I have been under the weather for several weeks, so I waited till the last minute to see if I would be fairly healthy. Are last minute walk in's OK? Is there anything you want me to bring?

Thanks

Hey,

Bring a lever or bolt action rifle if you have one.

Last minute walk ins are fine. Just don't show up at 4:59pm.

Jaime,

Does that mean we should show up at 12 and not around 9-10AM?

Btw, the wife doesn't want to come, so I hope it will be ok if I bring a friend instead. He's an eaglescout.

I'll get some sunscreen and bring a hat

If you are planning on staying for awhile show up as early as you want.

Mike, I might have guessed you`d have a stockpile of ammo for Auto Mags! Mine`s a .44AMP. I`d love to talk about different loads for it and buy what you don`t want. This thing`s become an expensive mistress already. Marcus

Marcus,

Can't really help you on loads. Niether I nor any of my family actually have an Auto Mag yet. My father has a friend that has a fairly large collection of them however. He was having some problems with getting his MA license renewed on time and temporarily was going to transfer the guns to an FFL friend or our family down here so as not to get in trouble with MA laws. Anyways long story short, his license did get renewed on time at the last minute, for some reason I forget all his ammo ended up at my fathers house. I'm positive he won't mind if some get's shot up, my father has had it for over a year now. I'll see if he has any in .44AMP and if so I can probably bring you a couple boxes - no charge. I'll let you know.

As for the shoot, I'll definitely be there, but may have to beg out early around 1 or so to go do some rock climbing out near Reading.

Timing of Relatives is...

... just so wonderful at times.

It was dropped on me last weekend that the BiL's kids(both girls, full grown adults) are due in late Friday/early Saturday of this weekend. I was informed by SWMBO(more like directly ordered ) that WE(as in the spouse AND me) were expected to be at the pool party scheduled for this Saturday. They'll be here for the week, but it has to be THIS Saturday!!!

I've been trying to figure it out for a number of years now, but can anyone shed any light on how you can have something scheduled for months(or multiple preceding weeks), yet some can just "drop-in" on the latest notice and all previous plans are then thrown to he*l?

I'm still trying to make the meeting, but it ain't looking too good as of now.

Mike you`re a gentleman and a scholar.

Anyone have an LAR Grizzly they could bring along? If I can find a 10" longslide it may be my next magnum auto but I`d like to give one a try first.

Jamie,I`m assuming the event is rain or shine no? Marcus

Rain or shine.

*Announcement*

Eric Rohrbaugh will be bringing earplugs for anyone that needs them, AND he will be paying off the cooks at W&W so we can all eat for free. The $5 per person fee is now VOID thanks to Eric.

You might want to rethink that Marcus. I messed up. I don't know why, but in my mind I mixed up the Wildey and the Automag for some reason. The ammo I have available is for a Wildey, actually three different caliber Wildey's. I really need a Wildey ... and an Automag.

No problem Mike,it`s the thought that counts. I`ll still have enough ammo to let you have a go with it.

I don`t have anything really suited to 3-500yd. shooting but I`d like to see if I can hit anything at 300yds. with what I`ve got. I`ll be bringing a friend though who`s really looking forward to trying out his .22-250 varmint gun at those ranges. Marcus

Yes.

All responsible firearms owners are welcome!

I could bring my Winchester Model 70-30/06 out. Art Eatman gave me some tips on increasing accuracy and it really seems to have payed off. I always bring a ton of firearms and never get to shoot them. Since I have to be a social butterfly at these gatherings I end up shooting everyone elses guns.

Please introduce yourself when you show up!! Tell us your name an which board you are coming from.

No problem Marcus. I got you covered.

I've got a Swiss K-31, A Japanese Arisaka, M1 Garand - hey it has a bolt , German Mauser and an Enfield to bring. Maybe a couple lever guns; some are repro's. And of course I'll bring the Carbon 15 Pistol again and some other modern fun type toys.

Should I bring the .500 S&W Revolver or is someone else already bringing one?

The .50 Beowulf AR? I was going to leave it at home this time, but if anyone is really interested I'll bring it along.

Hi guys! I've been offline for a while, but I'll be there. I don't have any bolt-actions, lever-actions, or C&Rs, but I can probably find something to bring. I never shoot much anyway at these big meets, so I'll probably travel light.

I'm an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, but I haven't actually taught any classes yet, only assisted. I'll be happy to help out with newbies or RO duties.

9mmMike, I'll try to remember to bring your big box.

M1's are permitted. No AK or AR or black gun stuff.

(OK just kidding)

I'm glad someone else is bringing an M1, maybe Mr Pop will actually let me shoot mine this time. Last time he shoved me out of the way and shot up all my ammo

I've been getting lot of flak for not having an M1 Garand by now.

I'll be at the 200yd range waiting for you, Geoff. Just leave the rifle and a can of ammo and be on your way.
