Dillon Square Deal

Yes, I've had that problem once or twice. Take off the primer feed assembly. Unscrew the threaded collar on the top of the tube and pull out the inner primer tube. Pull off the old plastic tip and replace it with a new one. You should have one in your spare parts pack. That usually does the trick. If those little split fingers get a little out of line or bent in any way it will start hanging up and drive you crazy. Bill

I would also suggest you take the primer assembly apart and clean it ( with Q tips ) not any solvent ...about every 3,000 rds or so ....

I no longer have the SDB model / but they're solid machines ....and easy to clean up / work on ..... and give Dillon customer service a call. The primer systems on all reloaders - need some maintenance.... ( I take my primer feeds apart on my Dillon 650 every time I change calibers / or about every 3,000 - 4,000 rounds / or whenever I finish loading a case of bullets.) If I do it every time I finish a case of bullets / its an easy part of the routine...

Beaver the Tech desk at Dillon is top notch. Give them a call. I have used them several times over the last 10 or so years with my SDB and have always found they could solve my problems.

If you are reloading in your garage, you need to warm up the machine. There are a couple parts that need to be pliable for the priming system to work. Also, Wolf primers are the worst when the machine is cold because they have rough edges.
