Disposable gloves

I would like to have a good source for cheap disposable cotton gloves to buy
in bulk for times when I'll be handling my guns. I have vinyl ones from when I was a printer, do you think they would be as good? I think it would be better if they are absorbent. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Usually you use cotton gloves if you want absorbent. If you want chemical resistance you usually get nitrile gloves (don't protect from DMSO, but do from most other things). Harbor Freight is the cheapest source I know of. Someone else may have something better?

Try the McMaster-Carr catalogs. Harbor-Freight is good too but I've always preferred McMaster-Carr.

Unclenick, DMSO is a 'carrier' which carries other chemicals through things like you skin. Do you know if nitrile gloves pass DMSO or DMSO+other chemicals. For those who don't know many printing inks especially newspapers and magazines contain carriers and many pesticides do to !!!

I like these from Grainger (men's cotton inspection gloves). I use them when handling brass so it stays clean and shiny longer (my skin/sweat is super corrosive <sigh>)

Mete,

I've read that nitrile is softened and weakened by DMSO, so it's not good for that. You have to be careful because DMSO finds its way into some turpentine and other paint solvents. If you put a little of the clean solvent on your skin and it feels warm, you'd probably do better to get some rubber-coated or neoprene gloves.

I buy white cotton cloves from a local camera store. Any decent photo store that sells darkroom equipment and supplies should carry the gloves.
