What are the best hammer-fired conceal carry handguns?
CZ P-01 and P07 are the clear winners here, but what else?

Same company, but the single best hammer fired metal frame CCW pistol I ever found is the CZ PCR. The lack of the rail on the dust cover and the low mount Novak style rear sight helps with reholstering/carrying concealed, plus the LCI is both usable and unobtrusive. Don't get me wrong, I carried a P-01 for YEARS as a CCW pistol, but for me the PCR was the bees knees.
Now wait for the 1911 crowd. |

Didn’t care for the P-01 I had, but the P-07 and even more so the Beretta PX4 Compact “G” are my top two.

I like the CZ PCR, but carried a Sig 229 SAS model in 9mm more.

If you can get use to the trigger, the S&W CSX is an option.

S&W CSX if far more easy to carry than any CZ, but if you don't mind the bulk CZ's are hard to beat.

Unfortunately, the P938 only has a magazine capacity of 7? Even the Springfield 1911 Ronin EMP has better capacity.

I've carried a "compact" 1911, and now, a SIG P938.
In the past, I didn't trust 9mm JHPs, so preferred "pre-expanded" bullets of larger caliber, but now, I prefer the much smaller and lighter load of the 9, and ammo has come a long way.

Springfield 4" Contour Carry EMP.
1911 sized to 9MM, fantastic trigger, light and great sights. Gotta' be happy with 10+1, but I am. Larry

Well, obviously the 1911.

For many of use, caliber and capacity is way way way down the list of required features; so far down as to be nearly insignificant. While I own, enjoy and shoot quite a few pistols with greater capacity and own, enjoy and shoot handguns that are chambered for .357 and 45acp and 45 Colt and 44 Magnum they simply don't get as much WalkAbout time as my less than ten round single stack pistols or five or six round 22lr, 32S&W (s&l) and 38S&W or 38S&W Special revolvers.
