Rimfire UZI

Out of curiosity, what would be the general opinion of a full-sized .22 LR UZI carbine?

Is this a hypothetical or does this pertain to an actual product? I am assuming the former? I think a .22 UZI pistol would be a blast provided it could contain alot of rounds. Carbine? IDK there are so many short nice .22 rifles out there?

DPris: What's up, pardner? My opinion: I did a Google search for ".22LR Uzi", which took me to G & A's home page, featuring a quick article on it. Looks like a great "fun gun" to me [assuming it's reasonably reliable], and the price looks good, too. Hopefully we can expect an upcoming test / review on this from you[?].

When Vector still had transferable full auto Uzis, they also had available .22 lr conversion kits for same.

Hi SS,
Shooting it today.

But curious about people's opinions of the caliber in that platform.
Anybody have any other comments?

If we're talking about the Umarex product, it seems awfully heavy for a .22

I can only really imagine it being wayy too heavy for a simple .22 carbine, especially if it has a metal folding stock.

The pistol version, sure. Hell, a Micro Uzi in .22 would be a blast.

IMI made conversion kits for Uzi Carbines for years, .22 rimfire, 9m/m, .45 a.c.p., and one more caliber that escapes my right now. They were drop in units, remove the barrel, remove the firing pin/springs from upper and replace them with the set from the conversion 30 second caliber change. The 45 and 9m/m are great the .22 shoots well and is fun but some times the 22 case(or cases) will not eject well and fall next to the barrel eventually causing a jam. Easy to clear pull back the cocking knob, turn on it's side port down, and shake.
the attached picture is of an IMI Uzi with the .22 installed.

Never personally seen any point in the handgun UZI variants.
This rifle shot decently, only one misfire. Reliable, but heavy as mentioned.
Just FYI.

For the kind of money Umarex is asking for these things, you could get a dedicated .22LR AR-15, which is a much nicer rifle in my opinion.

I'm curious how the Umarex Micro-Uzi pistol will turn out.

There are very few high cap .22 lr plinkers on the market that aren't based on rifle platforms.
