OD Green or Black? hmmm.
Hi, kind of a stupid thread, but...
Im torn between two colors for my new Hogue overmolded stock. One minute i want the black one, the next minute i want the olive drab green. I've always liked that "sniper/army" type look of the od green. but the "tactical/sharp shooter" look of the black is as nice. Whats your preferences or opinions? Thanks, Ghillie. |

The OD green would be a pleasant change from the more common black. Can't wait for them to come out with the digital. .....

Depends on the barrel finish. With stainless, I'd go with black. But otherwise, I vote for OD green.

OD green all the way. With that said, I don't know rifle you are stocking, but I'd almost guarantee there are better options for less money... Just my .02.

I will be stocking a Ruger 10/22. From what ive read they seem to be great stocks. They can flex a bit when under pressure, but for the 10/22 its not an issue. I probably would choose a different option than the Hogue if it were for, say, a Remington 700, or a larger center fire.
Well im thinking its gonna be od green. Its something different and im always starring at black guns. thanks. Last edited by GHILLIE MAN; October 14, 2010 at 06:17 AM. |

Ahhh... Yes I would think it is definitely ok for a 10/22, and I'll even second my own vote on OD while I'm at it.
That is the stock that came on my SPS Tactical (I already had a Manners stock ordered when I got the rifle) and it was ok but definitely not great on a "precision" platform. |
