Problem with my T/C Hawken

Got this rifle 30 years ago, and was a kit. I've had a tang peep sight on it for quite a while, and didn't have the standard rear adjustable sight mounted. I want to put the adjustable rear sight on it now, but I noticed that the sight doesn't have the little locking ring (like a c clip) on the end of the left/right adjustment screw. I don't want to buy a whole new rear sight just for the lack of a clip, but where can I get such a small clip?

You might take the screw to an automotive parts house and find one to fit. I'd go to Napa or something local. Auto Zone, Advance etc. won't be able to help you. If you have an old printer there's lots of small e clips in them.

Try calling TC customer service at: 603-332-2333

They help lots of folks out with free parts, especially those little tiny ones.
I wouldn't mention that it's a kit gun, but that probably doesn't matter anyway.
You may need to leave a message, but they'll call you back.
After all, they have the best BP customer service in the business.

Great advice and the last time I delt with them, by phone, was over an under-barrel rib that came in one of my kits. it was too was too short. While explaining the problem to the lady, she actually got up and went to look on the shelf, for the part. in short time, I had the new rib. You might want to mail your entire sight to them just to make sure it fits. What are you going to do with your old peep sight? I would be interested in it. I might add that I also have a Williams adjustable sight to sell or trade. I also have a TC rear site and front sight that would be more like the older traditional sights. Note that this is an non adjustable sight as far as elevation but can be adjusted for windage.

I'll have to leave a message for T/C and see if they can help. I tore open an old vcr and couldn't find a suitable clip. Tried several websites and the smallest clips they have are 1/8", which I think is still too big. Does anyone know what size that clip is?

Pahoo.. I plan to have both sights on the gun. When the tang peep sight is down, I can use the rear sight (once I can secure the windage adjustment with a clip. I think the rifle looks better without the rear sight, but it's more practical to have it on there as well.

You should be able to find one at a business specializing in fasteners. We have a place called Fastenall that probably has e-clips that small. I`ll check and if they do I`ll PM you.

I will check one of mine and get back to you. If you are still working, might want to check with McMaster Carr as they have a bunch of this kind of hard to find hardware. Getting back to TC; I would not be surprised if they can help you and possibly send you a new one. That is why I suggested you send the entire sight to them.

Any NAPA or Car Quest store should stock the small clips.
