Rem. Model 700 in 44 Mag?

I have a friend who says he has a Remington Model 700 bolt action in 44 Magnum. He said they made them for two years only.

Never heard of one till he mentioned it??????

If he has, get him to submit a picture here, because I doubt it.

They made the 788 in .44 magnum (also .30-30).
Good rifles but nowhere the same as the 700.

The .44 Magnum version of the Remington Model 788 was made only from 1967 through 1970.
All 788's had detachable magazines - something not available on a Model 700 until rcently.
