Two Lew Horton 25-9's?
Got a call from my usual shop that an older guy dropped off two 25-9's in new condition.
One is a Lew Horton Special from 1989, a model 25-9, with smooth cyclinder and matte black finish with a 5 or 5 1/4" barrel? Possibly a performance center gun thats also a Lew Horton? It was chambered in .45 long colt. The second was a blued 25-9 with a 6 to 6 1/2" barrel also in 45 long colt. The guy is adamant he wants about 650 to 700 for each one. I'm hoping to see them tomorrow or tonight....So what do you guys think? On a side note I didn't even know a dash 9 version of the model 25 existed and I don't much about the model 25 if anybody can inform me. I've only found some picture threads of them so far and not much information. |

Only if you want it pretty bad. My opinion is it's not a good deal but not a bad deal either.

Here's a heads up....
I bought a like new in box older Mdl 25-5 for a VERY good price. Doesn't shoot tight groups. Was told on this board that the cylinders on S&Ws that do not start with three letters in their serial numbers may have over sized cylinder throats. So, as advised, I dropped .452 bullets down the six and they flew out the front. My compadre has a Smith Mountain Gun with the 3 letters and the bullets stop in the front of the throat (do not stick out). Guess which one I can shoot groups with? Hell, my Blackhawk lets me shoot tight groups, even with a hammer fall that has that really long arc.
