Where to buy 870 barrel?
I've checked several places online for a Rem 870 18'', all out of stock. Any one know?

This is a place I look, they seem to alway have riot length barrels for 870. Have you checked into your local pawn and gun shops for used barrels?

You could always buy a used 28" barrel and cut it back to 18.5".... I have one for sale off an 870 Express for $100 plus shipping.

I agree with buying a longer barrel and cutting it down. I couldnt find a used 18" barrel for my 870 for under $100 including shipping.
Found a used non rib 28" barrel for $40 shipped........... promptly cut it down to the right length and its good to go, spent the saved $ on a synthetic stock set |

PTK and Rmart30- Is there any special paper I need to be able to do that? Is it ok to cut the barrel down as long it is not shorter than the minimum non-NFA limits? Can my local gunsmith cut the barrel?

cheaperthandirt.com sells them, but i just looked and they are out of stock at the moment of the express finish for $109.03,not sure on the wingmaster finish.
brownells should have them too. barrel exchange is $135.00 but from the looks of the listing it has the wingmaster finish. the shortest expres model they have in 12 ga. is a 21" rem choked vr for $175.00. i'm planning on buying that one in another month or 2.

Check with your local gunsmiths and see if they have any barrels laying around.

No this is no NFA paperwork necessary as long as you meet regs.
"A short barreled shotgun is any shotgun (which is defined as a shoulder fired, smooth bore firearm) with a barrel of less than 18" or an overall length of less than 26", or any weapon made from a shotgun falling into the same length parameters." Yes, your local can cut the barrel, install a new front sight, and verify center. Remember that your cut barrel will be cyl bore. Good Luck & Be Safe

Midway has 20 inch express bbls with rifle sights and an IC choke for 125.99.Cheaper than dirt has 18.5 inch bbls. with the goofy ported crenelated strike muzzle and a front bead for 159.97.Both of these catalogs came in the mail yesterday so they should be in stock.
