H&R Topper

Ordered a barrel catch from NumNuts and it doesn't fit. Apparently there were different types of Toppers. The one i need is closer to the image on page 391 than the one I ordered (page 394).

While I go check the printed page, why do you need a barrel catch? They almost never need replacement unless they break. GW

Well, my catalog is old and out of date. You'll need to know the model # designation, 48, 158, etc. There's a bunch of them. Also if yours happens to have a transfer bar that takes one kind, the earlier H&R's used another.

Gary, give them a call, and ask if they'll give you credit on the correct part, if you send that one back. I would say they will, since you didn't use the part.

You have to watch on all H&R guns, as they had design changes in all their firearms over time, even though they looked the same externally. I've not paid much attention to them lately, since Remington bought them. I imagine that they also added their own touch on a lot of the parts since then.
