Not to change the subject--have you looked at the "LTV" lightweight X-sites? That's the biggest beef I have with the regular one--it's a huge anchor on top of the rifle.

3 x 9 is probably more than enough for what I would need. I assume it also needs an IFR light?

so even though im achieving expected velocitys with alliant power pro varmint , ive decided to try out a slower ball powder , im pretty sure the slower powder will give me a bit more in velocity. may actualy cycle the gun unsupressed a lil better as well

just an update , i went out and did more testing today , reshot the a-tips and backed up the velocitys 2700+ with room to go higher , the big suprise was in the 123g bullet class i was able to push 123g nosler custom comp's with 28g of ar-comp to 2823-2857 fps , also did some testing int he 123g class with power pro 2000mr powder and barley broke the 2600fps mark using the minimum published charge wieght

this was all shot unspuressed so no speed boost fromt he supressor this go around

pictures comming

2000 mr--one of my favorites, great for 224 valkyrie as well (surprised you haven't dabbled in one of those yet).

Putting in some work with the 28" grendels today at 208y 135g atips shot prone off the bipod and new rear monopod, low shot was my first round , made a slight adjustment and shot 4 more,
hi = 2724 fps
low = 2708 fps
sd = 6
es = 16

the low group of 5 was 123g eld-m over 28.4g of arc ill get those velocity numbers and spreds here in a few mins, brass is mint

123g velocity and specs
high= 2877
low = 2820
sd = 10
es = 26

i need to drop back down again to 28/28.2 , i actually lost speed from my 28.2 testing but could be due to low mass carrier and reduced power buffer spring causing bcg to unlock and come back a lil faster , going to put my normal buffer spring back in and test a few more at 28.4 again

123g eld-m chrono data

this build is going to quickly replace my target 6.5 creedmoor build im either going to have mcgowen do a 26 inch +2 gas 5 groove rifling in either 1-8 or 1-7.5T 6.5 cm to replace my current 22" wilson barrel , or i may consider having them do a similar spec barrel for me in .243

got to finally test those lehigh defense 110 solids , first 5 loaded at 29g of ppv went 2730 fps , second 5 at 29.3 went 2710 , left side of target is the 29.3 group , on shot#4 my dot fell off and i lost my point of aim for shot #5 . lil stumped on the speed loss but im going to load more of the same 2 charges and see if my results match up , that 29.3 group is money though

mag primer testing

i need to continue working up im basing my loads of lehighs data which lists a max charge of 29g of tac , well i know from all my other load data that ppv runs about 1-1.5g more for max on average over tac , unfortunatly i think im done doing any more testing till i get back from vacation in February, i still got to much crap to do before i leave this week i dont think ill have time to do any more shooting

my gut feeling is telline me i should see damn near 2900fps out of the 28inch gren with theese if lehighs data is correct sine they claim 25xx out of a 16 inch barrel with tac

Nice! I see you have your ABL unit behind the main "lens" as opposed to in front of it.
