I'd say it's probably good. 1-48 twist isn't perfect for either round balls or conicals but should do ok with either one and may do better with one or the other. I'm not a fan of drum breeches but there's nothing really wrong with them. The sights look like the sights on an Italian made Investarms Hawken and those have some slop in them but AFAIK all Traditions rifles are made in Spain so they may be better.

What's a Hawken Woodsman? That short 24" carbine w/a recoil pad?

I have a similar one in 58 cal but it came "sporterized" without a patchbox wearing a rubber recoil pad. It has a 28" barrel & double set triggers.

Excellent rifle! I had two, but sold one as I had enough percussions lol. 1:48 twist, 28" barrel, they shoot round balls, hornady great plains, 160gr thor sabots, thor bullets, beautifully.

If you think the picture of the rifle looks cool, my brother in law makes it look even cooler in this video,

They are made by Ardesa, for Traditions.

I really liked mine -- .54 cal.
Shot round balls very well. Conicals were very hit-and-miss ... mostly on the 'miss' side.
