We are talking about experimenting from a lowpoint and working up safely for an accurate load, and not swapping max loads between say 46grains or more of 4895.Best
Now hear this: IMR4895 and H4895 are two completely different powders, made by two different companies, on two different continents.

If you want to discus them being "similar" then it should be like how Alliant's Power Pistol is similar to Hodgdon's HS6. Or Alliant's BullsEye is similar to Hodgdon's TiteGroup. Or Ramshot's Hunter is similar to Hodgdon's H4350. Etc., etc.,etc.

I spoke up because you were telling a noob that the powders are the same - which they are not. Confess and be healed my son.

totala, I guess you just can't read since I did state right off at the get go that No they are not the same powder and were made by different companies once. And I stand by my advise.

I must confess I never told a noob the powders are the same. Are you healed now? I know I feel very healed.
I wish your RealGuns data and you all the best.

My current Swiss load:

PRVI case
150 gr FMJ flat base bullet - PRVI, duplicate of the old 30-06 M2 Ball
43.0 gr IMR 4895
OAL 2.93

2650 fps, will hold the 10 ring if I can.

I've also loaded this with 42.5 gr. H4895. Didn't have a chrono at the time but function and accuracy was indistinguishable.

H and IMR 4895 ARE very similar. The H4895 was designed to duplicate IMR4895 afte Hodgon's stores of surplus WWII powder were exhausted. But now they are made by 2 entirely different companies. Close enough that if I have load date for one but not the other that I need, I drop 10% and work up.
