Anyone should be able to join the NRA and support the gun-owning community's causes. Not EVERYONE should IMMEDIATELY be able to vote on how the NRA is going to run its affairs. **Names above are just used as examples of gun-banning idiots - you can plug in your own names if you don't like the ones I've chosen. ^^ what he said.
It would be all too easy for Soros et-al to simply buy a million memberships, use those votes to stack the board, and then have the board vote to disestablish the corporation and to donate the remaining funds to PETA. Anyone seriously involved with RKBA advocacy is going to have been a member for 5 years. If you want to vote today, become a life member. They are running specials that make that so cheap that it's almost silly to be an annual member. Heck, I bought my then 14 year old Daughter a Legacy Life Membership for about $100 a few years back. Heck, anyone with any sort of means whatsoever ought to be a Patron Member, and then toss at least $100 every year to both the ILA and the SAF. Willie . |

Branch stacking is a very common way of taking over a political organization.
Here in Australia a future state premier was elected to parliament after 400 members of the local mosque joined his party branch in one day and then voted for him. When members of that mosque rioted the rumor was that police were told not to intervene. We'll never know as the 000 Emergency (our 911) recording 'went missing'. Similar stories of 200 to 400 members of an ethnic group joining a small branch on the same day used to be common, with one bulk payment of dues and all with the same registered address. Such people, or their group leaders, always expect a payoff for toeing the party line. Your President was a 'community organizer' and is backed by some very big money. I'd be very thankful that it would take them five years to stack the NRA. |
