200gr .452" SWC in .45 Long Colt?
A friend of mine loves how my cast 200gr H&G #68 semiwadcutters shoot in his .45 ACP Kimber Custom Classic. He has a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Long Colt, and wanted to try the 200gr SWC's in that gun, too. I don't see many published 200gr SWC loads for the old cowboy cartridge, anybody here try that and have a favorite load they'd like to share? Powders I have on stock that could be used include 2400, 231, WST, and Accurate #5.

I use 200 grain SWC cast or plated bullets for my .45 colts all the time. I can't help with the powders you have, I use 7.2 grains Bullseye.
Good Luck... Joe

About 5 or 6 grs. of 231 should work fine.

WW231 Long Colt load
For my Saeco 200 gr 068 customers I recommend 5 grains of WW231 for a pleasant plinking and target load.

I've fired 200gr SWCs from my .45 Colt Ruger with good results.
I've used 231, 700X, and Unique. Varying the charges to suit my intentions. Joe

I use it with 8.0 grains of Unique for a nice mid-range plinker.
