Lee Turret Press...Not working correctly!
My press will not auto index or manually index unless I remove the Square index rod, then I can rotate the turrret by hand, which I will don until I get this problem corrected.
I know I must get ahold of Lee, but that takes time and patience and I'm hopeing the forum can help me. The good news is the press will work if turned by hand. I hate to think that I would have to halt my reloading, until I got in touch with Lee and or order a part. Whatever the reponds, the forum's reply is appreciated. THANKS |

Sounds like you may have screwed up the little black plastic "thingy" that allows the press to automatically index.
If you dont raise the ram at least 1/2 way BEFORE taking the turret out, you run the risk of damaging the plastic piece. This is the piece that the indexing rod goes through. Lee will send you another one, most likely free of charge.

Ok a few things about the plastic square index thingy...
1.) Never store your press with the twisted part of the indexing rod and the square thingy engaged... it misshapes it... keep the handle down when storing... 2.) Never rotate the turret indexing rod with the square thingy engaged on the twisted part of the indexing rod... it misshapes it... 3.) Go to Lee's websites and but some square thingys as spares they are cheap... 4.) Go to Lee's website and view the video, how to adjust the indexing rod... |

If you bought the press new, there should have been a spare ratchet packed with it.

I purchased 6 extra ratchets when I first got my press, yep, I killed first ratchet due to misuse, installed spare ratchet and have never replaced it in 4 years. Learning curve, be good to thy ratchet.

I bought one of the first ones back in the 80's, Wore out the " thingy" that helps it auto-rotate. Been turning it manually ever since. It's just like pulling the handle or putting in a casing. Everything else works great. Sounds like fixing the rubber "Thingy" is easy. Might have to try it.
