.308/7.62, 16 inch barrel options?
I'm looking to re-barrel an Aero M5, which is a rifle I tend to reach for regularly - has a 16 inch QPQ currently...
There is nothing really wrong with it but basically if it was ever very accurate, it's not anymore, and I want to put a couple spares away for a rainy day. So I'd like to upgrade and will keep the original as a spare. Initially what I hoped to do was find a good quality CHF and chrome lined barrel from a company like FN or similar. I know QPQ is great, just chrome gives me the warm fuzzies because I like things as rugged as possible and it's what I see the top companies using. What I'm finding is in a 16 inch barrel thoug the options become real slim in .308, so likely CHF isn't happening. I really don't want longer, these things are heavy enough as-is... At the moment this strikes me as about the best I see, criterion, mid length chrome lined... https://criterionbarrels.com/product...-chrome-lined/ I assume these get the nod? Anything else in this ballpark anyone is aware of? Thanks in advance! |

Take a look at Green Mountain barrels. I have been very pleased with their barrels over the years, and they are reasonably priced.

![]() Haven’t had a 308 AR10 to be honest but for other that 5.56 Calibers green mountain has been good. |

Thanks guys, did look and it's neat as I'm in NH but they don't even offer .308 barrels.
